5-Axis Milling

Our beautiful 2021 Matsuura 5-Axis mill has a large pallet pool consisting of 10 separate pallets where multiple jobs or runs can be queued for lights-out or unattended production. This newer technology allows us to maximize uptime to accomplish large runs in short periods of time. Equipped with in-process inspection, you can be sure the first part of your run is the same as the very last.

A true 5-Axis mill, our MX330 has the capabilities of simultaneous machining and rigid positioning on any compound angle. Complex swarf milling is made easy through the combination of our high-performance tooling and cutting-edge programming software.

3-Axis Milling

With high precision Vertical Milling Centers from Japan all less than 10 years old, our diversity in this department also provides extremely consistent quality from each machine.

Each machine is fully optioned allowing us to maximize the rigidity and speed of these machines. All with BIGPLUS tool spindles, through-tool high-pressure coolant, in-process probe inspection, and automatic tool setting, these workhorse machines provide fast and consistent throughput of simple and complex milling orders.

Turret Turning

Each of our CNC lathes has a Y-axis and sub-spindle to allow for milling and off-center drilling operations. These are fully optioned machines with high pressure coolant available on each tool turret.

With sub-spindles equipped on each Lathe, we have the ability to transfer parts for single operation manufacturing, bar pull for quick single operations, double chucking operations, or install a center for tailstock use. All lathes have precision quick change tooling and a Renishaw tool setter. Quick set-ups, faster tool replacement, and flexibility in configuration provide Podium and our customers with the capacity needed to tackle all types of turning challenges.

Multi-tasking/MillTurn

Our 90 tool multi-tasking Nakamura lathe is flexible in every way, with work-holding ranging from 15″ chucks down to collet chucks capable of running a 0.250″ bar diameter, and a tool spindle with Y & B-axes capable of complex milling and turning operations. This beast is our most versatile machine for large or highly intricate components.

With through-tool high-pressure coolant and high-performance tooling, this lathe makes quick work of a variety of previously difficult to machine materials – from hard exotic steels, to gummy copper, and everything in-between.

Wire EDM

Wire EDM machines provide versatility in machining intricate features on any conductive material. Whether it is as simple as a keyway, square hole, or gear pattern, or as complex as cutting profiles unachievable by conventional machining, our 7-axis EDM can tackle a multitude of precision profiles.

Our Wire EDM machine is the largest available from the industry leader, Fanuc. With a 41″ x 32″ working envelope, this machine can run large work pieces or multiple smaller parts for long unattended cutting of precision profiles easily held to <0.0002″ tolerances.
